Companies in The Netherlands can acquire so-called KAM certifications (Kwaliteit, Arbo Milieu), which can be compared to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) and include the ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 certifications.
Bianca: “ISO 9001 requires a solid and healthy business operation. I think every company should have this certificate. For Comtest, the application went very smoothly. Their customer satisfaction is also high, their network of suppliers is good, and they have a critical attitude towards handling packaging and waste.”
What happens after a company gets its certificate? Bianca: “Certificates need to be maintained. Every year, a company is audited, and the auditors like to see improvements. However, companies such as Comtest have a full workload, so I drop by every three months to keep the staff updated. And training is also part of it, as you can see in the photo where Stefan Hoogenboom, one of the Comtest designers, is updating his fire extinguishing skills.”
