How to find the perfect test chamber without any stress? In this post, we delve into step 1 of our Worry-Free Five-Step Process: the preparation stage with technical consultant Uliana Trucchi.
Uliana: “During an intake, we will identify which chamber best addresses the client’s challenge. Some customers, such as test houses, have a clear understanding of the specs and know what they want. Other customers, such as OEMs, find it challenging to choose among numerous producers and chamber types and to decide whether to invest in the future. With them, the first stage requires more time and meetings, and may involve one or more site visits.”
Do the five steps also define the process duration?
Uliana Trucchi: “All customers are different, and we always give them the time they need at this stage. We treat them as we would like to be treated. We are a family business, and over my long career, I have seen how that makes a difference. Not long ago, we were in a tender for a project in which competitors submitted low-cost proposals with many basic elements excluded and offered as extras. That’s a short-term, sales-driven approach that will leave you with unhappy clients and a negative reputation. Our proposal might have required a larger investment, but we stuck to it because it was honest, future-proof and worry-free.”
Do you believe that clients get a clear sense of the Comtest culture in this first stage?
Uliana: “Yes, we have customers who became friends during the project, which is quite unusual: loyalty and our family vibe at Comtest are not something you sell; they’re either genuine or not. Our chamber solutions are mostly tailor-made, even the ones we call standard, haha! We listen to our clients and sometimes build something different from what we’re used to when they prefer it, or when they receive a proposal that offers future-proof elements they never even thought about. Listen, the world is not black and white. I’m Italian and a Catholic: life is a beautiful compromise, just like work. As soon as you realise this, life is great!”
