The Black Forest Testlab Journey
Behind this chamber lies an unexpected and remarkable story of courage and entrepreneurship that we really need to share with you. On June 1, 2024, two young and ambitious technicians in Germany, Josip Brkic and Francesco Iemma, moved into the building housing their company, Black Forest Testlab, with the fully compliant CISPR-16 Anechoic Chamber shown in the photo, which we built for them.

In the 90s, we delivered chambers with this kind of equipment, but we don’t anymore. Our colleague Uliana Trucchi explains why this decision makes a lot of sense.
Uliana Trucchi, Technical Consultant at Comtest, reflects on her early days at the company: “I remember this particular setting well because I had just started my job at Comtest when we sold it. At that time, our goal was to assist clients by delivering chambers along with equipment sourced from selected suppliers in our network.
However, early in this century, we decided to shift our focus towards becoming an innovative market leader in developing and building the chambers ourselves, while leaving the equipment to specialists. Another significant change involved the absorbers, which we chose to produce in-house. This decision aligns with our overall strategy, as we were already manufacturing the rest of the chamber. You can view this as a new and improved approach to providing worry-free solutions for our clients.”
The setup in the photo is a rack for measuring radiated immunity, with an amplifier, a signal generator, and a large antenna and was limited to approximately 3 GHz.
