Linda Bos takes care of the Comtest -family
Our new HR Manager, Linda Bos, has worked for many companies over the years, but now she wants to join the Comtest family. How did she find the experience of being match-made herself, for a change? Linda: ‘It was fun to be soliciting for a position as a human resource professional. When I read about this position, I spoke to the recruiter and started to investigate Comtest Engineering.’

Why did we just hire an experienced designer passionate about process improvement? Michel Lausberg embodies all those qualities and outlines the future of chamber development. But first, don’t we already know him?
Michel Lausberg: ‘Comtest is not new to me. I helped the design department with a few projects for a few months in 2010. When Bas de Groot asked me out for a coffee, I was more than interested. From there, things moved quickly, and here I am.’
You are our new Engineering Coordinator. What does that mean?
Michel: ‘My main focus is on improving the efficiency of the design department and its processes. How can we work more quickly, intelligently, and with fewer obstacles, such as automating manual tasks and accelerating project start-up through smart automation? This also provides us with greater insights into our design requirements. However, the design department does not operate in isolation; the better we communicate with other teams, both before and after the design stage, the more effective we are. During my first few weeks as a new member of the Comtest team, I spoke to those responsible for project preparation, the installation supervisor, planning, and others.’
Will there be room for new designs as well?
Michel Lausberg: ‘We are constantly updating our chambers and components catalogue, but initially my focus will be on the design process. I am very impressed by the high standard of Comtest’s CAD system and library. I will work with our operations manager, Steven Nijenhuis, to develop a standard for our most common chamber designs. For any special projects, I am collaborating with the R&D team. In the photo, you can see me talking to Dmitriy Penkin on the left, one of our R&D engineers. Every day, I am amazed by the level of knowledge and experience within the company. I have much to learn from guys like Dmitriy and many other colleagues
