Peter continues: “I was born and raised in Gouda, and Comtest happens to be quite close to my city, which is known for its cheese and the syrup waffles. If I had to choose, I would go for cheese: there’s always a piece in my fridge. The real one, because the name Gouda is not protected if you talk about cheese branding. But you don’t fool me: I did a test for a client in Estonia once, and a few blocks away was a cheese store formerly owned by a Dutchman. And yes, he sold the real thing.”
And what about the syrup waffles? “Well, I had some critique of the syrup waffles we used to give to clients. Bas, the owner, changed the supplier. And the ones we use now are Gouda-approved.
